Brian is a young entrepreneur / investor with surprising sophistication. Too bad he’s serving time in LA, as he’d be a key part of the Silicon Valley entrepreneur network.
Smart and well rounded developer/entrepreneur. Check out his new gig.
James is a wizard when it comes to analyzing large streams of data while at the same time getting the “big picture” strategically.
Great engineer. Super smart. Watch his new project.
Noah knows more people than Kevin Bacon.
Scott is always one step ahead. Watch what he does, the market will be there.
Paul can find and motivate developers as good as anyone. His eye for rough talent is remarkable.
Best co-founder in the world. Best technical guy in the world.
I like to help entrepreneurs build companies.
I like to build companies too.
In its purest sense, entrepreneurship engages everything great about life: intelligence, risk, relationships, passion and fun. Take a dive, you’ll see.
I receive inspiration from many different folks. First, from my family and mentor Bob Tercero. Second, from my friends who never talk back: Peter Drucker, Bill Bowerman, Warren Buffett, Richard Branson, Ray Kurzweil, Ray Cannon, and many others. And third, from the countless people and companies I work with (thanks everyone). The secret is in how you mix it all together.
I am an entrepreneur and have been since, well, forever. My first company, Newroo, was acquired by FOX Interactive Media when I was 25. It was quite a ride. My brilliant co-founder Dan Gould and I saw it all. Dramatic product shifts (check). Cross country moves (check). Deleting an entire code base (check). Running out of money (check). Yet through each individual experience I learned that entrepreneurship is the greatest adventure one can take. Serious.
Today I work at FOX Interactive Media/MySpace in Santa Monica, CA. Watching MySpace grow has been an a living, breathing case study for me. I marvel each day I get the opportunity to learn about markets, business and people. I am thankful.
As per your amazing start-up, with the right mix of technical/business competence, luck and lunacy fantastic things can happen. I believe a companies DNA is defined within the first 18 months. The essence of company building is locked in the hearts and minds of the founder(s). I like to help entrepreneurs get at the core of this fundamental issue.
If you embrace risk, love building and are truly passionate about your business then email me. Now go for it.
Farb and team are building a “the” platform for learning. People who want to learn shouldn’t have to pay thousands of dollars to sit in a classroom. Learning should be on-demand, at a reasonable price, with superb quality. We’re working on it.
Nivi and team are creating the premiere destination for top tier start-ups to raise money, hire and get attention. Raining money shouldn’t be a pain. Getting a meeting in The Valley shouldn’t be like getting tapped for the Skull & Bones. Good companies should rise to the top without friction. VCs should get access to these deals. We’re working on it.
We’re working on MySpace News and other ad technology. FIM has come out of nowhere to become a leading portal: MySpace, IGN, FOXSports.com, etc.
Newroo was acquired by FOX Interactive Media in 2006. Newroo is a platform for managing decentralized media (using machine learning technologies). Dan Gould was my co-founder. It now powers MySpace News, among other things. Email me if you have any questions.
Despite having what’s likely the fuzziest profile pic on VH, Brian’s incredibly sharp. He’s making stuff happen down here in LA and always willing to give of his time to help a fellow entrepreneur. Always a good guy to sip Modelos with.
